Flat Iron Hike

Did the Flat Iron hike with Christee, David, and Nicole. Had a good time and burned some serious calories. It's been a really long time since I've been to the top, so it was nice to get there again.

We made it across the Canyon!

We made it across the Canyon!! Took about 13 hours total for the 24 miles, and we took a couple hours of breaks for food and rest. Had a great time and didn't even hurt too bad after the hike. I guess the hard work paid off. I think Christee and I will try to make this an annual event. It's a great thing to look forward to and keep us out hiking. One of the hardest things I'll ever do, but oh so satisfying!

Rim to Rim

Grand Canyon, here we come! The girls (Christee, Becky, and Jody) and I are headed out for a Rim to Rim in the Grand Canyon this weekend. 27 miles in one day...we do this why?! Gonna be a great time and awesome challenge. It's been a number of years since I did this the first time, I just hope I don't hurt as much...yeah right! Send good thoughts our way please.

Mt Humphreys Summit Hike

Christee, the dogs, and I headed up to Flagstaff this past weekend to tackle the summit of Humphreys again. I'm happy to report that we were successful this time! Had a great hike, but we did get hailed on twice, and rained on for a while. Everyone did great, and Rusty didn't hardly limp afterwards, so that was nice. Feeling a little sluggish today, but I guess that's to be expected after a 10 mile hike, and at elevation. The peak is at 12,633 ft, so very little oxygen!

ET Run - Area 51 in Nevada

Not sure why, but Christee, Nicole, and I decided to go to Vegas and do a mignight run this past weekend. We got to Vegas at 10pm on Friday, played a bit, then hung out on Saturday. We loaded a bus at 9pm on Saturday, got lost for an hour, and got to Area 51 at midnight, the time the marathon runners were to start. Needless to say, the run started late. I got dropped off for the half marathon and started running at 12:40AM. Yes, AM! Finished in 2:04:29 which I was thrilled about. Met back up with the girls (they did the 10k), boarded a bus, and back to Vegas we went. Got to Vegas at 7am, showered and on the road to Phoenix at 8:15am. Crazy sleepless weekend, but very fun! As you can see, we dressed up as aliens for the run. I also drew pics on our shirts and outlined them in glow paint. Good times!!
